    My name is Savannah White and I am from Section, Alabama. I graduated from Section High School in 2022 and previously finished obtaining my Associate's Degree this past summer semester at Northeast Alabama Community College. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education as a Junior and my expected graduation date is in 2027. My career goal is to be a Kindergarten teacher after completing my bachelor's degree. I have a  big interest for child development and believe in being a strong advocate for early childhood education. I have many interests in my spare time, some include traveling, playing sports, scrap booking, and cooking.

    I hope to learn a lot from this course this year. Something that stood out to me in the course description this week was understanding student learning. I feel like this is very important when becoming a teacher so I would definitely like to go more in depth in that subject so that I can be the best teacher to my ability that will help children grow and expand in their learning. I also would like to go more in depth about the "5 C's" so that I can be sure to have these qualities that makes up a good teacher. I would also like to use additional clarification of the different types of organizations of teachers such as the National Education Association and NAEYC that will give me an ultimate understanding on the profession as a whole. Overall throughout the course, I would like to learn more about student learning and different types of ways to help students learn that suites their individual needs. 

    One quote that inspires me to be a future educator is: "Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions."

      I always had mixed feelings about standardized testing when I was younger. It would make me really nervous to take tests because I never wanted to do poorly so that always motivated me to do my best but it also stressed me out a lot during the test taking because I would always doubt my answers and that made me take more time on each question.            In today's world, technology plays a huge role in classrooms now, so I feel that technology integration could pose as a challenge to me as a future teacher. Since COVID-19, technology has been implemented in classrooms and schools as a whole so much more than what it used to be. Technology has become an important tool within schools because it is now another version for how students learn. When you look around in schools now compared to years ago, you see chrome books, digital whiteboards, artificial intelligence, tablets, and much more.          I definitely feel that this could be a challenge for me as I consider myself to be a more traditional learner. Journal Entry Chapter 4:

    When I imagine myself teaching a lesson about a favorite hobby, I would imagine teaching a lesson on something creative like painting or drawing.       This lesson could be a window to students because it could give students who don't really gravitated towards painting or drawing the opportunity to explore expressing their creativity. They could observe their classmates paint and draw to learn new ways that could make it more fun. I could also use this lesson as an opportunity to help students be more engaged and interested in the art process. For example, I could show them what happens when they mix colors, like how blue and red makes the color purple.
